Dr Michael Rowlands qualified in Birmingham in 1979 and he has had a distinguished career in Psychiatry with a special interest in addictive disorders. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (London) and

is registered both with the General Medical Council (London) and the Ordem dos Médicos (Lisbon).

He has had extensive experience in helping people with addictive disorders over two decades having been involved in the Commissioning and Clinical lead responsibilities of Service Development with the National Health Service (UK). For the last ten years he has been in private practice in southern England and he has been Medical Director of a 12 Step abstinence based treatment centre. He has had wide experience in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders associated with addiction, but also has an interest in work-related stress, depression and anxiety.

Dr Rowlands is a member of the International Society of Addiction Medicines and of the European Association of Psychiatrists.
