moved to Lisbon to work with Atitude as a therapist at their facility in Cascais where he also worked as their Equine therapist. He subsequently returned to the Algarve to take up a position as Treatment team leader at a local Portuguese facility.

In addition to his excellent qualification in addictions treatment Emanuel also trained in the UK in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy which remains a key professional interest and passion. He maintains his interest as well as his skill by frequent professional development in all aspects of Equine therapy which he passes on to our patients. Emanuel insightfully processes equine sessions with the Nova Vida patients and passes on to the clinical team his assessment of the session thus enabling the process to continue.

Emanuel has been closely associated with Nova Vida since its inception and on his return to the Algarve he quickly resurrected the Equine Assisted Psychotherapy as part of Nova Vida’s programme.  Emmanuel conducts this weekly therapy along with Katherine, the horse expert and is keen to develop the equine programme with Nova Vida including individual sessions. In addition to his role as an addictions therapist Emanuel maintains a strong interest in experiential therapy.
