With experience from her time with Priory Healthcare and Farm Place Alex heads the clinical, medical and nursing teams helping to blend together the
professionally trained and qualified counsellors, nurses, doctors and psychiatrists to provide a clinical programme of excellence. Alex also delivers the therapy programme in conjunction with the rest of the clinical team and when necessary with the addition of the clinical skills and expertise available from resident and visiting clinicians on the Algarve.
Therapy is always most effective when the patient has nothing to complain about and Sally, the second co-founder, heads up the business and administration side of Nova Vida ensuring complaints seldom happen and if they do they are quickly resolved. All non-clinical or medical matters are dealt with by Sally and her team.
The third co-founder, Andrew, splits his time between clinical and business and with feet in both camps is able to ensure continuity between the various aspects that make a stay in residential treatment effective.
The Nova Vida Psychiatrist has 20 years’ experience in the treatment of addictions as well as general psychiatry and works well with the rest of the clinical team and our team of nurses. We have built excellent relationships with doctors who administer the initial medical assessment, psychologists who we call on from time to time as appropriate, nutritionists and other medical experts. We have an excellent massage therapist and an enthusiastic Tai Chi instructor. When you go to the gym you are facilitated by a qualified personal instructor who ensures you do not overdo it in the early days.
All of these well qualified people who make up the multidisciplinary team at Nova Vida are professionally qualified, referenced and experienced as appropriate for their position.
